Long Range Adjudicating Committee

The Long Range Adjudicating Committee supports and oversees the adjudication process. The committee meets several times a year in order to discuss issues pertaining to the oversight and direction of the adjudication system especially as pertains to recruiting and approval of new adjudicators brought into the system, the planning and hosting of the annual Adjudication Forums and overseeing the accuracy of the Orchid Awards preparations. The Long Range Adjudicating Committee also addresses and responds to concerns member groups have about individual adjudications or the adjudication system as a whole.

Beginning in 2015, the Long Range Adjudicating Committee began sponsoring a public forum each winter with an array of presenters talking about their respective areas of expertise, called the Annual Adjudicators' and Presidents' Forum. Each presenter brings years of education, training, and real-world experience to these forums. Though the forum's purpose is to help educate adjudicators and ACT group presidents on what adjudicators should be looking for when coming to shows and how they should be adjudicating to those observables, anyone involved in community theatre-- either onstage or off-- will benefit from the knowledge in these presentations.
